In the first episode in our new podcast series, Dr. Durland introduces herself and SIMPLE Wellness.

Hi, I’m Sam. Sam I Am. I’ve always thought that’s really funny. Green eggs and ham Sam I Am I grew up reading that book and always thought somehow I related to it. But my full name is Samantha Durland and I’m here to talk to you about who I am and the company that we have founded called Simple.

It’s a wellness company with many different aspects, but I thought it would be a good starting point for you to know a little bit about me and what our business is about and what the podcasts that are listed are geared towards. So I’m a girl that grew up in Kansas. I went to the University of Kansas as an undergraduate, and then I attended the University of Kansas Medical School and subsequently completed my first two years of residency In Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University of Iowa in Iowa City.

I then had our first son and moved back home to Kansas City where I completed my residency at the University of Kansas. I now reside in Lawrence Kansas. We’ve lived here for over 16 years and for 14 years of it. I wasn’t employed physician and then found that I have a huge passion for wellness. I went back to school and I attained board certification in anti-aging and regenerative medicine and subsequently completed a fellowship in metabolic and nutritional medicine.

So basically all those words just mean I’m a girl that loves to go to school. I’m a girl that loves the human body and I love to help people get better. I tell folks the first chapter of my medical career was an Obstetrics and Gynecology while my next chapter is in wellness. And if somebody has a GYN related issue no problem. We got that.

I now care for all ages of both men and women focusing on helping the body be well. The business that we’ve created is called Simple. It’s a wellness company with several components because we found that it takes a village to help each individual be their best selves. The wellness answer is not the same for each person, but the variables that help us get there are actually very similar.

We help folks put it all together the mental the physical the structural and then the functional aspects of well-being. We strive to help folks at Ain this in the most simple fashion possible. I tell folks all the time life is hard, but your body is actually very easy. After all we evolved in a cave.
We Outlet the dinosaurs. Nature has already gotten this figured out. We just have to be mindful and listen to what it’s saying. I hope that as people listen to these podcasts they hear about the varying aspects of our company message. What I found is that everyone needs a little something different and so as we talk about the spiritual the functional aspects of the human body. We also include workout tips stress relief tips eating tips and find that the underlying principle and all of this is that we want you to find Wellness in this crazy world in the simplest way possible.

Nature is all about energy conservation. If the plan is to complex than it’s super hard to sustain. We believe that when you work in the way that nature works you are even more powerful as a being and so that’s who I am and who my company is in a nutshell. I hope that anyone listening gets a little something from all of us to find a better version of themselves.
